The Odyssey

AMC Southdale 16 | Aud. 6 | Seat E9

The first time I saw The Odyssey, I saw it in Dolby Cinema primarily for the slightly expanced aspect ratio compared to other formats. While it's nowhere near the full-frame of the 70mm IMAX presentation, I still felt immersed in the world that Christopher Nolan created. For such a long runtime, I never felt bored or that the story was going too slowly, even though some parts felt somewhat unnecessary (specifically thinking of the Laestrygonians). Learning that the pig transformation scene was all practical effects absolutely blew my mind. It truly felt like this film was a love letter to making films.

Also, why was this so LOUD? Seriously, I think this was the loudest movie I've ever seen in my life.
